Bali
6
 DAYS IN
Bali

Bali!!! Bali has always been a dream to go to, and a dream it was!

Bali is hard to plan because there are so many places to go - Uluwatu, Seminyak, Ubud, Canggu, Nusa Penida, Gili Islands, and so many more unexplored areas - that would take at least a month to get to the bottom of. Instead, we had 6 days. We were there for a relaxed trip, so we narrowed it down to two cities (with a Nusa Penida day trip).

Our Bali itinerary wasn’t adventurous - just cafes, beach clubs, and anything the antithesis of stress! However, one thing that stayed at the back of my mind was Bali's belly. Having heard many bad experiences, I didn’t want that to ruin our trip. We avoided most street food, tap water, and ice, and went to food establishments with good ratings. One tip I learned is that if the ice has holes, they are industrial ice and is safe!

Also, I got an eSIM.

TRANSPORT | We used GoJek for everything within and between cities, except transport arranged by our tours.

DOING THINGS DIFFERENTLY | I would skip Tanah Lot - it wasn’t worth it. I would also have gone to Mount Batur if I knew I could take the ATV up instead of the hike! Outside of that, I thoroughly enjoyed my trip.

HIGHLIGHTS | Nusa Penida, Potato Head Beach Club, La Brisa Bali

Day 4 - 6: Seminyak

KU DE TA

POTATO HEAD BEACH CLUB

CAFÉ DEL MAR BEACH CLUB BALI

FINNS BEACH CLUB

LA BRISA BALI

TANAH LOT

Seminyak was a beach club after beach club, cafe after cafe, massages, beach, and surfing! Life is good! Some of the places we went to crossed in Canggu because they were so close to each other.

We only went to Potato Head Beach Club and La Brisa, and I loved them. Potato Head Beach Club met my expectations, and it was terrific. Also, the food is really excellent and well worth the premium!! Hot tip: admission is free, and there is no need to pay or purchase anything to use the facilities. Although we needed a day bed, we booked early because we were on their waitlist, and I’m sure there wasn’t a waitlist. After going to a highly-rated beach club in Phuket, I can safely say that those in Bali are in a league of their own.

We also went to Tanah Lot - and maybe I had an isolated bad experience, but as much as an offshore temple was interesting, we could only see it from afar, and it was not worth a 40-minute drive from Seminyak. I would not recommend it.

We couldn’t miss out on great Balinese massages, so we had two separate massages - Therapy Canggu right outside La Brisa and Terapung Float Club, which we enjoyed thoroughly.

WE STAYED AT Mosan House - a beautiful house that is so spacious and comfortable (more so than Villa Anika or Taman Bebek Ali). It was nice to hang out and unwind in the living room by our pool at the end of each night. It was close to Seminyak's main parts (hint Potato Head Bali), and it was easy to walk around - a minute’s walk from the excellent Acai from Beach Bowl Bali Seminyak.
